Rural community housing,

Glenuig

Feasibility study to explore the opportunities and implications of developing a former quarry and crusher site to accommodate at least four affordable houses for social let.

Working with Rural Housing Scotland the study involved detailed community consultation on appropriate forms of development and how the site could be laid out.

The resulting design, for a terrace of four houses constructed from a highly insulated and draughtproof timber frame with natural insulation, is compact and efficient, as well as cost effective.
