Drummond Road,

Inverness

For this project we were appointed to look at options for the re-organisation of internal rooms and the design of a two-storey extension to the rear that would bring daylight into the heart of the house.

Upstairs the proposals create a new bathroom with large windows facing down the garden, while downstairs we’ve created a back porch and shower room, as well as a projecting dining room that’s open to the remodelled kitchen. Large sliding, folding doors open from the dining room to the garden.

To increase the amount of sunlight - and passive solar gain - into the house we designed a reflective glazed slot in the new roof that brings daylight into the kitchen, and a glazed strip in the grass roof over the dining room.
